About Me

I have been training in jiu jitsu since 2014 and started competing 11 months after my first taste of mat life. I began with a free trial at my school with an interest in  taking self-defense classes. After my free trial, I decided I’d found the right place and moved on to the MMA basics program, where I started to build my foundation in jiu jitsu. I remember sitting on the benches after class and watching the intermediate jiu jitsu class thinking, “I really want to do this.” It looked beautiful, artistic, and scientific to me. After I graduated from MMA Basics, I knew exactly where I was headed. I bought myself my first gi and joined the same class I had been eagerly watching.

My jiu jitsu journey has included learning how to manage and reduce chronic fatigue and its effects on my training and competing.
